[Lahore] General Body Meeting

Assalam o alaikum,

We will inshAllah be having our long awaited General Body Meeting (GBM) on coming Sunday 18th December 2011. (Exact time and venue will be updated soon).

We will be discussing plans for 2012, possible events and most importantly we will be filling up our vacant posts of Lahore Body with willing members (with election if required). Details of vacant posts will be updated shortly. All interested to participate should show up in the meeting.

If any of you specially the new members something else to be done in the meeting or merge some SIG event in it feel free to share you idea here or with me or Ahsan (event co-ordinator).

Also the membership of everyone other then the members who qualified in 2011 will be expired this month end so you are all requested to bring along Rs.1000 to renew your memberships.

And last but not the least please keep in mind that MENSA events are not sponsored by MENSA unless stated otherwise :)

Mensa Foundation International Scholarships for foreign Mensans

Mensa Foundation Scholarships applications are now available! Get started on your application today!

The Mensa Education & Research Foundation college scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by the applicants. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need.

The scholarship application process opens Sept. 15 and closes Jan. 15.

The Foundation’s international scholarship program is open to foreign Mensans or their dependents attending college in the United States.

The Mensa Education & Research Foundation International Scholarship Program is intended to provide scholarships for foreign students enrolled at colleges or universities in the United States. The program follows, in broad terms, the outline of the scholarship program already in place in the United States.

 

The scholarship application process opens Sept. 15 and closes Jan. 15.

Eligibility is limited to Mensa members (except American Mensa) or their children age 25 or younger. An application form with more information can be downloaded below.

These passionate young superstars will work for 3 years at Rs. 80,000/month on data analytics and artificial intelligence at trg tech followed by complete funding of the candidates’ higher level / university expenses (Tuition + Exam Fee + other academic expenses) at any national / international university by trg tech. 

Candidates will be selected based on intelligence (initially MENSA IQ test), attitude and commitment (final face to face interviews).

Mensa Lahore Certificate Ceremony & GBM

Certificate distribution ceremony and general body meeting of the Mensa Lahore City Council was held at the Ritz Cinema at Sukh Chan Wellness Club on Friday, November 28th, 2008.

The meeting was attended by Hasan Zuberi, Mensa Pakistan Chairman, Raza Jaffri, General Secretary, Amir Rana, Treasurer, Usman Zaheer & Ahmad Babar of the Lahore City Council, as well as several other members of the Mensa Management Committee, as the members of the Lahore City Council.

The above pictures were few of those taken during the function. The event was invoked by tilawat, followed by a welcome address by the Lahore City Council. Next in line was a presentation about Mensa, Intelligence and Mensa Pakistan. Two short musical films by Animusic.com were screened at the theatre. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the qualifiers of the last Mensa test held in Lahore.

The event was followed by snacks and refreshments.
